How does your garden grow?

There are many great new stamps, tools, and embellishments in the Holiday Catalog so I don't know where to begin.  Since I am not in the Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas mood YET, I will start with the probably one of my favorite stamp sets that SU! has ever offered.  The stamp set is Perfectly Preserved and it is the most versatile jar, fruit, and flower set I have used in a long time.  What makes it even better are the framelits dies that compliment the stamp set.  That's right, you don't have to cut out, by hand, any of the images! Below are two similar cards I created with the stamp set and the framelits dies.  One is more visually clean while the other has a more vintage feel.  I was inspired by the card sample on page 29 of the Holiday Catalog. These cards use many new items from this catalog.

The 2012-2013 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Hello Stampers!

It’s that time of year again… the launch of a new SU! catalog.  This year’s catalog is about 40 pages smaller but offers a wide range of stamps to choose from.  A larger mini catalog will come out this August full of holiday sets guaranteed to please!  

SU! has also redesigned their stamp pads.  With the release of the new catalog they are introducing their new firm foam stamp pad! A few things to note: the firm foam is nice and flat and will not become wavy, it is soft and has a nice bounce to it, and the ink lay-down (how the ink is absorbed into the card stock) is even, not blotchy, and dries quickly. It has an increased opacity and stamps solid images beautifully. 

 

There are more Framelits and Edgelits to make your crafting tasks easier.  I hope you enjoy looking over the catalog as much as I have.  My favorite set… A Cherry on Top – page 201!!! Can’t wait to hear which sets you have fallen for.

It's Teacher Appreciation Week!

When I saw the new 3/8" pleated satin ribbon in the SU! Occasions Mini I knew I had to have them ALL.  I decided to match the ribbon up with the new SAB stamp set Elementary Elegance.  The result, simple yet elegant birthday cards.

I never thought I would be stating this... I think gnomes are growing on me.  Don't worry I am not ready to fill my yard with the little creatures, however, I certainly enjoy this stamp set.  My son is a huge fan of the movie, Gnomeo and Juliet, and I plan to create gnome valentines for his classmates.
